Welcome to Fall at Brentwood!

Hello from beautiful Brentwood, California - the ‘hidden gem’ of the East Bay.

Here comes the fall and everything that comes with it: Baseball Playoffs, High School College & NFL Football, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and aerated greens on every Golf Course around…..except here at Brentwood Golf Club! That’s right, we made the decision to aerate our greens in August. What does this mean? This means our greens will have fully healed while almost all the other local golf courses have now begun to punch and sand their greens (which generally takes 3 to 4 weeks to heal). Mark Condos, our Golf Course Superintendent, and his team have been working hard to get the greens back to your expectations.

Our ”Live Music Fridays” at Nines American Cooking have been a huge success. Please look for that to continue into the first two weeks of October. Another big hit has been “Dancing the Nines Away,” which is an opportunity for you and your loved one to enjoy a night out for dinner and dancing at the same easy location. We are very excited about the fast approaching summer months. Mark Condos, our Golf Course Superintendent, has the golf course in fantastic condition. He and his team have been working hard this spring to get the turf healthy for the warm summer months.

Well, we need the rain and we are finally getting it. The good news is that the course is really looking great and will only get better as the rain fades away.

The weather (or lack thereof) still seems to be the story of the day. It looks as though we may be getting some much needed rain this week. Brentwood has had less than two inches of rain since the rain season began last year. It has been very dry, very chilly in the mornings, but unseasonably nice in the afternoons (great golf weather).

Congratulations to Dane, Vince, and Nines for putting together a great event on Sunday the fourth. The Inaugural Super Bowl Shotgun and Bar-B-Q event was fun for all, even the Bears fans in the crowd. Hopefully that event will continue to grow into a favorite annual tradition here in Brentwood.

We’re still on target for aerating the greens the first week of April. The healing time is short this time of year, so I wouldn’t let that spoil your plans to come out and play in April, it’s typically the best time of the year to play here.

Happy New Year!

A dry winter has set in on Brentwood. We are not getting the rain nor the fog we usually experience at this time of year. Luckily, the frost has been breaking and we are getting under way each day by about 8:30 am. Afternoons have been unseasonably warm and clear, so the golfing has been great on this side of the mountain. The course is in good shape - no rain means hard and fast. You’ll find the best playing conditions from now thru June... call for a tee time: (925) 516-3400.
